workwrite: Upgrading for Injured Workers

Program Description

PTP’s workwrite program serves injured workers seeking to re-enter the workforce. Clients utilize the program to improve their literacy skills for entry-level jobs or upgrade their skills to continue on to college or training.

workwrite instructors, who work with participants in small group settings, feel a strong sense of connection to their clients. They are rewarded by high levels of student satisfaction and the enhanced confidence of learners.

What to expect

  • Clients are offered a number of training options:
  • ESL for the Workplace
  • Literacy and Essential Skills for the Workplace
  • Academic Upgrading
  • Pre-GED and GED-Preparation
  • College Preparation
  • Job Search Training Program (JSTP)
  • Co-op placement

Special features of this program

  • continuous intake – classes start every Monday
  • small group instruction
  • initial assessment for placement in program
  • ongoing assessment to measure progress
  • detailed monthly reporting

Who is eligible?

Injured workers who need to upgrade skills to return to the workforce, or enter training
