Job Search: Employment Placement (EP)

Program Description

A job search program offered to assist individuals on Ontario Works achieve greater self-reliance and eventual independence.

What to expect

Two weeks of pre-employment training followed by on-going support and coaching to ensure clients develop the skills necessary to plan and conduct an effective job search.

Support with the following

  • resumes, reference lists, fax cover sheets, and thank you notes
  • access to computer and internet, e-mail, job ads, application forms
  • interview skills, rights at work, how to keep a job

Special features of this program

Labour market networking and links with potential employers to help clients secure employment. Participants have secured employment as

  • Customer Service Representatives, Data Entry Operators
  • Office Clerks, Sales Associates
  • Shipper/Receivers, Machine Operators, General Labourers

Who is eligible?

  • adults 19 years of age who have Grade 12 education or higher
  • who are prepared to actively seek and secure full-time employment and how is on Ontario works

Program duration

A 2 (two) week job search preparation program followed by up to 17 weeks of on-going job search support.
